I have a website that is almost done development and the specs are at the bottom of the email. Im not sure if i should start off with a dedicated server with managed hosting or what. I do not have server tech skill and cannot manage myself and dont know the first thing about load etc..

I basically want to put my site somewhere and not have to worry about growth issues and moving to another server. I also do not want upsizing to be a major issue or concern. I know i do not want to do shared hosting so what other options would you suggest.

The site will have high traffic and lots of images and videos being viewed. Its a new business and i dont have any specs on traffic or load yet but i want to startoff right. Any suggestions would help.

We are using PHP as a server side language and Mysql as a backend.

Linux hosting [image magic / gd library support]

Language: PHP5

Database : Mysql (version >4.1)

That cannot be answered in these forums per TOS. I would forget the review sites as they basically rate by affiliate payout...hehe

well im not really looking for a 'you should host with www.xyz.com' more or less looking for dedicated vs vpn vs xyz server choice with hosting choice package as im really quite new to where to start with growth and upsizing as an issue and i want to start correctly.

You would probably just go with a shared account running a Linux flavor. Make sure to check them out by phoning etcetera and also one of the most overlooked items, check out where their servers are located (data center). Like anything else, you usually get what you pay for. So if you signup somewhere for $5 a month, don't expect much if the service is terrible or there are constant server problems.
