Hey all,

Does anyone know of an image/file hosting service that offers an API that I can seamlessly work into my .NET 2.0 site? My server also supports PHP.

I need something that can host files indefinitely for my user base, and which will provide the posted file's URL for my members to use after posting.

Main considerations are:

- Host files long-term (indefinitely)
- Seamless integration into existing site
- If possible, no registration for my members, just upload and go
- Files support direct linking without a needed return link
- Not necessary, but CLEAN image resizing would be nice as sometimes my users upload 1mb photos, hah

A small to moderate monthly fee would be fine, but something free would be even better. I'm currently using AllYouCanUpload.com (by WebShots) which allows unlimited photos which are hosted forever, but it's just too separate for what I would need and they do not offer an API. I would also love to be able to host files, and not just photos.

Maybe I'm asking a bit much! ;)

Thanks!
Travis

If you support PHP then just allow file uploads and store them on your own server (or am I missing something?)

Thanks Vince,

I may end up going that route but I was interested in finding a provider to offset a bit of my bandwidth, at least until I can get a script up and running that will both allow uploads, and optimization of files.

I probably sound cheap but I'm not necessarily looking for someone to give me free bandwidth and hosting, as I mentioned I would pay for a service that suits my needs. If I could find one that is a good fit I would even like to consider a long-term relationship as a file hosting provider.

Any thoughts?
