I have read many topics on here about website redirecting and how to maintain page range etc. What I am trying to do is a little different. We recently purchase another store similar to ours. Call it widgets.com and widgets2.com. I don't care about page range etc on widgets2 because I am simply wanting those customers to get redirected to our website. Is the simplest thing to do here a 301 redirect? Is that all I need to ask for from our hosting company? My understanding is we will lose page range and links from widgets2.com but it should not affect ranking on widgets.com?

Thanks for any help you can provide

Greg

Welcome to WebmasterWorld turnerg79.

A 301 redirect would put everyone onto your preferred target site. That would be the simplest way. If you're not looking to map specific pages to one another then simply 301 to your home page.
