I know that CMS systems (content management systems) have some security issues. Script kiddes follow cms' like NUKE around looking for trouble.

Do Wiki's have some of the same issues?

I was just looking into this the other day. It seems that a lot of people in the Wiki community were complaining to one of those people who participated in the recent SEO contest. It seems a lot of people went after Wiki Sandboxes as places to dump their links. So it's not the script kiddies who are the problem it seems, it's the spammers.

There are ways to protect your Wiki, but in a lot of cases that destroys the whole intended purpose of a Wiki...an open system that anyone can edit. If you're running a private Wiki then it is possible to lock down the site and determine who can edit.
