FTP Pro - need help in identifying directory structure symbol

Another website owner asked me to take look at thier website and gave me the username, password, etc.
I logged in to thier site with ftp pro and there was only one regular "folder icon" visible.

Three other icons each looked like a piece of chain-link. When I click that chain-link icon it gets me into a subdirectory with a normal folder which contains the html files.

What does that icon of the chain-link mean?

It's a symbolic link to another folder somewhere else on the machine. Instead of navigating from folder to folder through the tree these links will bring you directly to another folder in a different path.
