Hello,

We have a rapidly growing opt-in email list and plan to send 250,000 emails per month in the near future. But I'm not quite sure what server, hosting plans, or software will best support it. Would a VPS work? Or would we need to go with a dedicated server for that kind of monthly email volume?

What would be most cost effective? Just looking for advise before signing up and realizing the hosting package or server can't handle what we want to do! Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,
- Matt

Welcome to WebmasterWorld Mateo1041.

A lot of the advice that I've read here about mailing list administration is that due to a number of factors it is best to outsource this sort of work to specialty companies specifically that handle bulk mailings and lists. It's not as simple as just setting up a server and getting the proper amount of bandwidth and space. There are a myriad of administrative headaches you will face from the sounds of it.
