With so many programming / scripting languages around VB, Java, Javascript, Perl/CGI, PHP, Actionscript ect, which one would be the best one to learn first? I have the latest books on them all (have had since Xmas) and I am at last through the "Staring at the binders" stage, and I believe I am ready to actually open one! I am in no hurry, and will eventually learn them all, so necessity isn't an issue. Can one of you multilinguists proffer some advice please.
