Email send by sendmail cannot reach hotmail mailbox

Hello all,

I am a newbie in Linux server setup, i recently setup a machine for development of Ruby on Rails(RoR) app, and i tried to send out email by that RoR apps, it work well when i try to send to GMail or Yahoo, but when i tried on Hotmail accounts, it seems all the mail have gone away, not even in the Spam folder, it sounds kinda strange, do you guys have any idea on this?

BTW, i have been browsing around for this on the internet, and clues are found on something like setting up RDNS on my server, but i am not sure what is the correct way to set it, i dont know if i should call my data center for it? or it is something i can set on my server.

FYI, i am running Ubuntu 6.06, and my domain record is hosted somewhere called Verio.

It could be a number of factors with Hotmail. You might look at implementing Sender ID [microsoft.com].
