Hi,

I am planning to implement a system where:
1. Customer calls a number
2. Enters the item Number & credit card information via Touch Tone
3. Hangs up
4. I get an email with the order information.

Is this type of service provided by any of the web hosting companies.. where it is integrated with web server?

If not provided by web hosting companies, do you guys suggest some other services, where I can rely on professionals to handle it at low cost?

I did some reading on this today and I found that I can easily setup this system at home if I have an incoming phone line connected to computer's TAPI compatible modem and if that computer is connected to Internet. So, I am probably looking at $50 software cost and $ 400 computer cost (dedicated) as one time expenses. $20 phone line cost and using my existing DSL / cable connection as recurring costs. So if I can get a professional quality service in similar cost, I would prefer to go for that.

Any pointers / experience?

Thanks
SD

Sounds like an "IVR" System may well be what you are looking for.

To be honest I know very little about them.

You coudl try a Google search for "IVR phone system" this may provide you with some information.

Hopefuly someone else will be able to offer more input for you.

Mack.

Thanks MAck,... I did some reading before posting this thread.. I guess (not 100% sure yet) IVR involves speech recognition also .. I am just looking for a simple telephone keypad answering system for now.
