My web host recently announced the ability to filter incoming e-mails on the server using real-time blacklists via spamhaus and spamcop. I want to get my e-mails. Will using these RBL services cause me more issues with not receiving legitimate e-mail than removing spam? What's your take on RBLs and their effectiveness (and accuracy?) in filtering spam e-mails only?

We have been using services like this for years. It greatly reduces the amount of spam because usually legitimate users are not on any of these lists.

From time to time, you will find some companies like AOL and Godaddy will block an entire Class C. Usually you can also have a whitelist to help you out just in case
