Easiest way to backup from server to external HD?

Any software recommendations?

Is there a software out there that can do all of this?

1. Schedule downloads of backup files located on server to local drive
2. Then, schedule the backup files located on the local drive to my external hard drive

The reason for this is to have extra copies of the website (located on the server, local drive and external HD)

Also, does anyone know a simple cron job that will automatically initiate creation of backups?
