I hired a coder to put a php/MySQL registration system on a site. Simple submit form that triggers an email to the registrant. The email includes a clickable validation link that triggers a second, confirmation email to the registrant. I agreed to host the site on the coder's server - one I've never used before.
The system works fine on everything except AOL, where the initial, form-triggered validation email does not arrive. I tried several computers, both PC and Mac, followed all of AOL's suggestions about how allow blocked mail. Turned off all the filters, added the URL to my Address Book, etc. Still no go.
However, when I create an email in outlook express (on a different server)and cut and paste both the subject line and the body with the live link, AOL lets it through. Am I correct to suspect that the problem lies with the new server?
The host says he has no idea why AOL would be rejecting the emails or what to do about it.
Can any of you tell me how to figure out what's going on and how to correct it?
Thanks very much in advance!
Ed

Did you get on AOL's Whitelist?

AOL have some very stringent guidelines for sending mail to their users. So much so, that some hosting companies will no longer allow forwards to AOL.
