We've encountered a problem that I hope someone can help with.
Our e-Commerce site has many product images showing up for searches in Google Images. I attempted to place a test order from one yesterday. I was on my site but still within the Google Images frame. I added an item to my shopping cart, it looked like it 'took,' but then when I proceeded to checkout, I was told I had no items in my shopping cart. A colleague and I tested this for several items on his machine using IE 7.0. (I later tried testing from my machine using Firefox 5.0 and was able to add items just fine using Firefox.)
Next, we tested out with other websites. As it turns out, we were able to checkout fine on Google Images with Target and Horchow's sites (using IE 7.0). Smaller websites had the same problem we did with IE 7.0(unable to add items to cart).
We sent the problem up to our programmers and the plot thickens. They are able to check out on our website fine from Google Images using IE 7.0, and even place a test order.
Originally, the IT team thought we were using an older version of IE to place the order and that IE 6 messes up non-session cookies with frames across domains. But when we let them know we were also testing with IE 7.0 and had the issue, they weren't sure. Making it stranger is Target and Horchow have no problems. And why would this work from one machine and not another? Are there individual settings we need to enable?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
