Hi There

I'e a client that has a server hosted in the UK and sells to the uk but the admin team of the site is in sri lanka.

for the past few weeks the site has been very slow for them as their connection is routing through the states and some nodes there are timeing out frequently.

By running through a proxy server the problem is solved.

However, because the site holds some sensitive data i've told them not to use a proxy as i don't know how secure they are.

Should i be worried, and/or are there any other solutions to my problem

Many thanks,
hughie

Who runs the proxy server?
As far as I know if you don't know them then it's not secure at all unless all communications are transferred ussing HTTPS?

You could setup you own proxy I guess?

What exactly is causing the slow connection that a proxy has helped to solve?

The problem is some router in the USA that's timing out, is there any way to direct it elsewhere?

It might have to come to my own proxy, although i've not set one up before.
