A client of ours said that his ISP has put in place a 301 redirect to send people who visit his old site to the new one we created for him. However, when we tested how his new site is doing with the Search Engines, we noticed that they return content/images from his new site yet identify it with the old site's URL. I don't think this is how it is supposed to work - right?

They had next to no visibility with the search engines with their old site; we have been really pouring on massive SEM effort to develop links to their new site which has been optimized. Now they have position with some keyword phrases, yet list it under the old URL!

I'm a marketer and not technically trained. Can anyone provide advice or suggest where I can get some help?

Thx,

Celeste

Did they do a 302 redirect by mistake? Try looking at the http headers of one of the old URLs. Try Net Demon (netdemon.net). The www button will do the trick.
