For DNS management on sites I manage, I have used ZoneEdit, HSPhere control panel, and shared-host-custom tools to set CNAME, MX Records, etc. What such tools available for within a typical corporate network that I could offer to my network admin to a) relieve his burden of vi/cli and b) safely open certain aspects of DNS management to me without him worrying that I'm going to break something that affects him?
A typical request would be to add another subdomain to point to a specific box-- currently, he manages all zone files with "vi" and it's quite laborious to get him to move sometimes...
