I'm looking for a chat client to embed into a website

My client is asking for it to be secure. (although I know the only real way is to use a secure server and the costs would be above what she wants to pay).

So I'd like to go through lots of different options, (and point out the pitfalls to her) but I've never had to incorporate a chat client before. Nor am I that familiar with chat rooms either.

So any help or direction would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

I use the Absolute Live Support system from Xigla software and it works very well.

I believe they also have something called Shoutbox, which is a multi-user chat client.

I'm not sure, but I believe it can run in https environment.

For a large client in the medical field I am going with liveperson

It has many good reviews

and you probably have used it many times

The cost per seat is not free although highly affordable.

Thanks, I'll take a look at those. I've found Boldchat, which offer 128-bit encryption.

So will take a look, and have a ponder.

Cheers for your help

Liveperson for over a year now..works nice and easy to integrate

...the latest release is pretty buggy though...
