Solaris rewrite? dynamic URLs --> search engine friendly URLs

I am trying to have the pages on a client's dynamic Web site indexed by the search engines in a manner similar to the mod_rewrite for Apache, except the URLs I am hoping to have indexed are on a Sun Solaris server that features jsp pages.

Can someone let me know if there are any threads that focus on this (I couldn't find any), or if there are any Web resources/new ideas?
