I have a bit of a strange problem with FTP. When I ever I upload pages they get uploaded as 0KB.

I am using SmartFTP, I thought it good be a bug as I am using the free version so I downloaded FileZilla and WS_FTP but with those the upload just fails.

The odd thing is somedays its fine, if I use another laptop I can upload using SmartFTP without any problems.

My only guesstimate is that maybe its something to with a recent service pack I have installed or my Nortons Internet Security programme.

Has anyone else had this problem? And if so how did you resolve it

Any ideas really appreciated!

Thanks in advance

I use SmartFTP on a daily basis and I have never seen this problem.

Questions for you:

1) What operating system are you using?
2) Have you downloaded the latest install for SmartFTP?
3) Have you tried uploading files with your Norton secuirty programme turned off?

Hi, this is an on going problem for me, Smartftp uploading files as 0 bytes, an its a problem cause those files are geniuinely invalid files.

hmmmm, just a thought,,,

For me, the problem started when I switched Host , I also realised recently that my network card was intermitently dropping my internet connection,

with my old host, they had "resume upload" set up, so an interupted upload would finish fine, with "resume" , a .05 second connection interruption would result in an invalid file .

Hmm, I just thought this up as I was writing this, I'm off to check my new hosts regarding "upload resume"

cheers
