i tend to ask server admins questions they've never gotten before. maybe someone can help with this:

i have a client of a large business with around 12 in-office employees. the client would like copies of all mail sent and received through the employees' computers (pop server / outlook). they put a strong emphasis on outgoing mails. i've asked the sysadmin if they can set this up on the server but its a no-go for now.

anyone have ideas on how to do this either server-side or client-side? note: it must all be done silently with no interaction from the employees. some employees are familiar with the rules wizard.

After giving this some thought, I suspect your only effective solution will need to be implemented at the server.

Even if you installed something client side surreptitiously, I'm reasonably confident it would be discovered and compromised, eventually.

I have no direct experience in this area and I'm simply speculating and deducing based on general personal experience. Hopefully, some of our members have faced this situation and can provide some genuine insight. :)

i too hoped someone had some experience with this issue. you're right about client-side widgets and quiet moves. most of the employees would figure it out eventually. i have written to the sysadmin again and asked them to keep on it.

What mail server are they using? Exchange, sendmail, qmail, etc....
