Hi all,

We are thinking of using cpanel for a new hosting company project.
Has anyone any experiences with this(good or bad) and can you recommend by experience any proven alternatives please.

Thanks

Michael

I have very recently started using a reseller account hosted on Cpanel. So far it does everything that I need and clients have managed OK without my help.

It's early days but I am pleased so far and keep looking for features (or lack of) that may be troublesome but none as yet.

H-sphere is feature studded, but quite a lot of bugs when i last heard. Also, you shud first get used to using it.

cPanel - is quity easy to use and so far the most popular choice and infact many hosting companies offer cPanel.

Plesk - is quite stable, but less control and damn slow.

Ensim - has its share of problems...one of them to mention, the name admin directory is used for panel internal purposes, so if u r installing any script and it has admin, u'll have to rename ur scripts admin dir name and get the script to work.

I have used all the above four. you might want to settle with either cPanel or H-sphere.

One another panel getting popular is DirectAdmin , popularly known as DA in webhosting community circles. I believe their support is very good at the moment and you might want to try their demos.

Good luck
