Hey guys.....

I'm looking for a script that is "simple" and STRAIT-FORWARD like this:
[ancientamerica.org...]

Preferably, if I could put that same "content" functionality in the middle of a site with my own stuff around it, that would be great.
You know, just with the top progressive menu, and having the Category and Items sections.
Like this:
<bleep!>

Of course, I've been checking some of the script sites, and I'm getting a headache.
I can't find the ones that look simple and strait-forward as this one.

Anyone have any "specific" suggestions? Thanks.... :)

Welcome to WebmasterWorld leeuniverse!
Have you checked out hotscripts.com? You might find something suitable there or at one of the several other script sites.

LeeUniverse, welcome to WebmasterWorld. One approach you might consider is using blog software like MovableType. You can customize the pages to match your site, and installation is usually quite simple. By disabling some of the comment and link features, you'll get something that looks less blog-like. You'll also be able to add new content very easily.

Hi rogerd... I've been refered to that one also.
I'll try to look closer at it to see if it will do what I need.
The admin here deleted my screenshot which MORE specifically indicated what I was wanting.
However, what I'm looking for is simply the Progressive menu, the Categorys and Items as my content management as it shows in that site.

Thanks....

Hi leeuniverse,

Can't comment definitively on the forum move, guess I could see this either way since you're asking about a script (a technology issue) for content mgmt.

WRT the screenshot link, 2 things about WebmasterWorld.

First, there's a lot of attempted abuse on dropping urls to websites so the genally accepted rule is don't do it. The mods spend too much time moderating to have to investigate which might be ok & which might not be.

Second, it's preferable to talk in slightly less specific terms that will be more beneficial others that may have a similar (but not exactly the same) problem. If links were allowed, your link might not be active 18 months from now when I'm reading this thread in the archives. Best to describe your general situation as completely as possible in the post without referencing your specific, exact details. That might not be most beneficial to you but it's better for the whole community.

And Welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com].

uh ok.... It's just that it seems ODD to me that a forum that is geared to WebMasters doesn't allow the posting of "Screenshots" or links to their Websites for discussion.

I can understand the desire to control "spamming" or whatever, but such a rule seems to defeat the entire purpose of the forum.

Oh well, whatever works for you.... ;)
