Macromedia Contribute - Is it a good CMS?

I am considering Macromedia Contribute to give clients access to their site content. Macromedia just announced v2 with some extra functions.

My concern is: Suppose I get clients to use Contribute, and then Macromedia bring out some function in v3 or v4 that leads to problems or persuades clients to use other Macromedia stuff instead of our services...

Once we tell a client to use Contribute - Macromedia have an email address to send them updates with who knows what in future.

Am I just being paranoid?
Anyone else using contribute? What do you think about it as a low budget content management system.
