Internet Information Services Problem

IIS Problems

Hello! I am new to the forums, and just had a quick question for anyone who could help me out.

I am running Windows 2000 Advanced Server for a small computer business. I hosted my website and FTP server on it. Well, a couple nights ago, there was a software error when I was trying to run some updates, and my web and FTP services got deleted from IIS. No problem, I thought. I can just make new ones, and reconfigure things again. Well, everytime I go into IIS, it gives me the error code "No Administerable Services Found", and does not allow me to create either Website, FTP, or any other services. The only option it allows me is to connect to a PC, and when I try connecting to the PC I am working on, it just gives me the "No Administerable Services Found" error again. I have tried uninstalling IIS with both my CD-ROM, and the Control Panel, and nothing seems to bring back the options of creating new Websites and FTP services. Do any of you know what I can do? Please help!

Sounds like an OS reinstall. Sorry!

I think they are dll's missing that are generic and not part of iis. Therefore, simply reinstalling iis will not do the trick.

General Windows toubleshooting/problem repair flow:
Run chkdsk
Reinstall the problem application
Run System File Checker
Reinstall Windows

If you have the win2k CD rom try reinstalling IIS. I belive it was an optional software feature. If you put the win2k cd rom in the drive and browse through it there should be a setup icon. Click on that and it will guide you through the rest of the setup.
