"Sharing folders" between XP and 98

I am trying to "share" folders between XP desktop and my win 98 laptop. The XP network is set up, but am having trouble with the laptop. I have the network setup, but after running the setup netither the laptop or desktop see each other.

I am running a wireless network with MR814 as a router.

Any ideas?

Nope haven't made any head way. This is a hand me down laptop so I am wondering if I am getting a conflict. Was also told that depending what version of 98 it is, that I could have troubles. Any ideas how to proceed?
