Please Help ... my local IIS won't start

Hello everyone,

I hope someone could help me with this.

I'm trying to code some ASP's here at home. By the way my OS here is Win2k with IIS installed.

When I was trying it last Saturday night with (http://localhost) it's perfectly working , i.e., I could see the localstart.asp properly. But just tonight, when I copied some ASP files I made from my office to my home PC it just wouldn't work. Then I find out that the IIS service is not up, but I don't know how to do it.

I've added/removed the IIS features in Win2k already, but still I cannot continue with my work.

What do I do? Need your replies ASAP. Thanks in advance!

If you saw the proper files when you ran [localhost...] then you have installed and configured IIS correctly.

IIS default page is an ASP page.

The problem, most likely, is in your code.

Sir actually I'm just trying to access the default home page of my local IIS. But to no avail.

Try going to:

Start/Programs/Administrative tools/Services

and check that the 'World Wide Web Publishing Service' is started. It may be set to manual (i.e you have to start it) and hence not running.

Just curious. Is that Win2K server or workstation?
