Configuring PWS to run Perl scripts in Windows ME

I would like to know how to do this....

Greetings everyone,
I am currently learning CGI scripts in Perl. My problem is configuring PWS to recognize the scripts. I am running Windows ME and have installed the Windows NT version of PWS, but how do I get the two to play together?

Hi there, PWS is not supposed to run on Windows ME. If you search the Microsoft website there is some info about this. However I got it to run (for asp pages) briefly. But it was very unstable and then it completely stopped working and I was unable to fix it. So I think you'll probably have to find another solution.

I had it running on ME for a short while, although I know it is not desugned for that environment. (Runs OK under win 98 if that is any help) As for perl. You can donwlod active perl from activestate.com in win32 version. It will install and configure for your windows operating system.

unfortunatly it doesn't help to much. I have Perl working fine, I can test scripts all day long in the Command Prompt.
I have PWS installed and as far as I can tell it's running fine. I can't get PWS to recognize the CGI scripts, thus I can't test them in a browser.
Any thoughts on the matter would truely be welcome.

I belive you need to assign file extensions in the registry.

.cgi, .pl ect

I can't remeber the exact location in the registry, perhaps someone else would like to add something.

This page [gossland.com] specifically mentions WinME and includes a downloadable registry file you could import. I skimmed this page. Read it CAREFULLY and proceed cautiously! :)
