Hello,

First let me say that I wish every forum were as helpful as this one. My question is related to finding a database forum. It seems that every one that I have visited has post after post with zero responses. Also, my search for help on Google is turning up nothing except course objectives for classes or seminar descriptions. I guess I'm surprised that database professionals don't seem to want to share their knowledge.

I am currently taking a class in DB design (and yes, even my instructor tends to keep relevant information to himself!) Can anyone recommend a DB forum or resource that discusses example script files? Our group is creating a DB in Oracle9 and using SQL*Plus to create queries. We have an organizational hierarchy with divisions, departments and offices and need to create a report to list the addresses in an organized format. Of course, no example exists in the textbook and emails to my instructor remain unanswered.

If anyone has any suggestions could you email me?

Thanks!

Sorry, but the requested information is classified as being secret as well ;-). There would be no point in keeping relevant information to ourselves and then point you to a useful forum.

Seriously I donīt know of any db fora.

hehe..surprised no ones told you the solution is to use mySQL instead :)

A quick search on google/google groups for PL/SQL brings up some resources.

Good Luck.

Unfortunately this is one of those "me too" posts in that I don't know of any upper crust DB forums either. BUT - if you do find one that you feel is useful, pop back here and let us know. Perhaps others would find it useful as well.

And of course - if you do come to your senses and join the MySQL revolution ;) - then you'll find plenty of help here.

A class for DB design should include mySql, although Oracle will land the big buck job (if there are still any out there...)

Have you tried oracle.com? They might be able to help with forums. You'd think that oracle would have a huge forum following.
