If I were to link from a PR5 page, the linked page has a good chance to become a PR4 if no outbound links on it.
What happens if I permanent 301'd to the PR4 instead of linking to it? Will it receive the full PR5?

Since Google recommends using a 301 redirect when moving a site, they should transfer alle the PR. After all, the original page no longer exists. Whether they do it like that, I don't know.
