I have been using cgiemail for web site contact forms for some time now. I need help with two issues.
1) Two of my clients tell me that when they try to "reply" to email received from their web sites, the false email address of the host server appears in the "to" field, rather than the sender of the messages. This does not happen to me. I use Eudora for email, and they are using Outlook; or it may be their ISP, they both use the same one, not the same as mine. Either way, or neither, I don't know how to fix this.
2) The other problem is trying to get a personal message to appear when people leave out "required" info on the web site form; currently, if one of the "required" fields is left blank, a server error page is displayed when the "Send Email" button is pressed.
Does anyone know what I can do about these problems?
I recommend changing to either FormMail which is also a cgi script (search for it on Google with that name.. use ver 1.9 only, nothing earlier)... or use a php form to email handler script. There is a stack of them at www.hotscripts.com
If cgiemail is supplied by your host and they insist you can't use anything else, ask them to provide the fix. No result, change hosts...
sorry, didn't see that it was your first post .. welcome. You will learn a lot here from some very friendly and skilled people.
