I'm working on a site for some friends who want to do a unique/artistic softcore adult content site (commercial). Host needs: Adult content ok, Perl/CGI scripting, ecommerce, availability of unlimited transfer & traffic (even if it costs extra). They can pay around $35 a month.

I've done the research, searched the host search sites, and I keep hitting a brick wall. I've looked at hundreds of companies, most of which are completely unfamiliar to me. In almost every case, the host doesn't in fact do what it claimed to do on the hostsearch site or doesn't allow adult content. All my techie friends are self-hosters or have never done adult content, so they have nothing to recommend. Self hosting isn't an option for these people right now - they aren't very web savvy and just want to get started to see whether or not it's going to work before making a huge money & equipment commitment.

Is their price range too low? Anyone have any company to recommend at all?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Unfortunately, open discussions about hosting are discouraged at WebmasterWorld for various reasons. The primary reason is liability issues, secondarily, is the fact that many of our members offer professional hosting.

If anyone can offer this new member suggestions, please do so in StickyMail ONLY, NOT in this thread. Thanks!
