Hi,

I need to implement an internal search engine on a site with about 300 pages. The site is in Italian so I will need something template driven that I can easily translate.

Any suggestions?

The site is currently hosted on a windows box and I don't think asp nor cgi are permitted with their current hosting package. They will most certainly need to upgrade.

I would prefer something that runs on the server, unless someone knows of a hosted solution that is not too expensive (no ads) and available in Italian.

Thanks,

Steph

Atomz.com offers a free search tool for up to 500 pages - there IS a small graphic link to their site, though. I've implemented this on numerous sites and have been very pleased with the quality of search results and reports. It's incredibly fast to implement. I had a client whose site search was broken after they changed hosts (it relied on MS Index Server, which the new host didn't run). I had an atomz demo running in about 15 minutes, and then spent about the same amount of time fine-tuning the fonts, etc.

Unfortunately, I think that atomz no longer has their low-cost small-biz offerings that let you increase the number of pages and dump the graphic link. As I recall, the lowest level of paid service had become rather costly for small sites.

Their search results templates are fully editable and customizable. I'm not sure if they have specific language options, though.
