As my site gets bigger and bigger I am finding it difficult to keep track of what changes need to be uploaded to my hosted site (I do most changes locally under Windows before uploading).
I was wondering if anyone knew of any good and secure FTP, SCP, or other protocol software that would allow me to quickly determine what the differences between any local and remote directories are. So that I could then upload the changed files.
It would be ideal if such a program could be run from a DOS batch file too as well as having a GUI front end.
I say secure because even though some FTP programs have such a local/remote comparision capability they are not secure in the sense that the username and password used to access my hosted directories are transmitted to the server in the clear. Without first being encrypted.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated.
Thanks.
