I hope that this is the right place to ask this!

When searching on the Internet the only commands that I can find for SSI are:

Date_Local
Date_GMT
Document_Name
Document_URI
Last_Modified

I understand how these work, but I cant find alot in the way of advanced commands, I will be using the commands on an NT server and can find very little on the net in the way of help or references for any NT commands. I know Unix is the probaly the best for SSI but I have hosted my site on an NT server for over a year now and I am happy with the service.

Thanx :)

Hi. By SSI do you mean Server Side Includes? If so, there's no mystery to it.

Can you elaborate a bit on what you are looking for?

Does SSI even work on an NT host? I thought it was an Apache thing...

SSI works great on Windows. I use it all of the time. Fast, efficient and useful.

There are some awfully good resources online that run the gamut of SSI calls. One is bignosebird.com (basic), another more advanced tutorial using xssi is on webmonkey.com (do a search from their site), and another wonderful one is here [ordersomewherechaos.com], including links to other sites, as well as tutorials from the site itself.

I'm on a *nix machine and I live by SSI. It's great stuff.

On NT and 2K, it's just there (unless you remove it). It works basically the same as *nix.

I managed to find a few things on the net, but thanks for the help anyway guys & gal!

P.S I decided to phone my hosting company and check that it was enabled on my server. I was left on hold while they attempted to find out, I then got passed through to an American lady in the sales department who wasn't sure either and made me explain my understanding of SSI so she could say for sure if it was enabled on the server or not. 25 minutes on the phone and no one was sure. So I went home to upload some examples and found it worked after all. Didnt give me the greatest confidence in the company :(
