Is there a mouse for shaky hands / elderly people

I have several elderly clients / friends who have trouble using a standard mouse i.e. shaky hands. Does anyone know of a mouse or other solution that would assist people with shaky hands?

At 53, I don't think of myself as particularly elderly, but I've had a rough life and do tend to shake a bit. (I have since college days, probably burned something out with excessive partying. 60oz of coffee per day doesn't help, either.)

Kensington Pro tracball. It's expensive, but the 1.5" diameter ball is easy to manage. You can also program the cursor acceleration/deceleration and set the function of the buttons.

I'm not elderly, but I'm sensitive. And I have to say that the Kensington Orbit Trackball reduces shoulder and upper arm strain from moving a mouse all over the place.

And I agree with the previous comment that the settings should be slowed down. The Kengsington may not ship with the software, however. You have to download it from their web site.

You might want to also get into the habit of using keyboard for navigation - so you can move your hand all over the place without being restricted to holding something a certain way for hours and hours (a mouse).

example being if you have a backend for creating your sites and fill in/edit forms......pressing tab a few times and typing away is sometimes faster than all that strain and hassle involved when reaching over for a mouse :)

Would be difficult navigating a website with lots of links, plus its hard to see that thin grey highlight box around highlighted links.
