Why is that such a prominent link on some pages when there really are no announcements? ;)
The last announcement is over 2 years old. Even the IMN aquisition of WebmasterWorld would've been grand enough to warrant an announcement, in my opinion.
Can we just remove/hide that link?

Yes, it's the same feeling I get when I hit the wrong bookmark and land on my host's Status page. "Awk! My server is down?" Oh. OK. It was down... in October of 2011.

I agree that this is odd but there are bigger problems than this in here with traffic disappearing link snow from a dyke. :(

DrDoc, I guess it was missed when the announcement was made, and it's probably a little late to add it now.
There are a number of significant updates coming to the site, and, as ever, they take time to get correct. Some eagle-eyed WebmasterWorld Supporters may have seen some additions, but, again, no official announcements until it's ready.
