New Orleans is definitely a walking city -- plus at the Orlando WW conference it was simple to hitch rides with other attendees to popular dining/entertainment spots.

Hahaha, me too. They probably charge every time you leave the lot and repark. Maybe I will bring my bike.

Everywhere I've ever parked in New Orleans will re charge you when you leave and return. Fortunately you'll probably have little use for your car. I can't say that I've ever seen many people on bikes in N.O. and you'll probably be putting your life in jeopardy.

Well, leaving in 4 days now. Can't wait... for the first time in my life I'll be able to "talk shop" with actual people, face-to-face. Wow! Exciting! I might even learn something.

My real name is Bobbi, in case my fiance won't let me put spaceylacie on my name tag(I guess there will be name tags). He's Jason and just got his own computer to start working with me last December. He hasn't quit his day job yet, but we're working on it.

Yeah, I don't think a car is necessary, unless you're way out in the business district somewhere. Otherwise, from Park Plaza to Bourbon to Harrahs is an easy walk. Just make sure you the apply common sense after dark. Never had a problem down there myself, but you hear stories...

Is there another thread somewhere about parties, meetings after the conference, etc.? anybody know if Yahoo, Google, or anyone else is throwing any minor bashes? Been to a few hundred conferences over the years, but never this one.

Looking forward to meeting everyone and going to the piano bar at Pat O's - anyone interested? Its a tourist thing, but a bunch of fun if you've never been.
