Gonna show up in New Orleans

Anyone else planning on attending?

It's not that far a drive for me. And, 800 bucks at door is nothing compared to what I've learned, and profited from, on this site.

P.S. We'll sneak in if I don't like your answer!

Thanks for the sticky!

I'm still wondering what was meant by this:

'cept on the last day. Was a bit err ... difficult.

What about taking notes, we can bring our laptops? Is there something easier I can buy to take notes with? I'm not really into the conference scene, but this one interested me because I gave up my own business for Adsense late last year.

This will be my first conference and I'm very excited. My friend is too... We're going to New Orleans!

I was thinking a paper and pencil to take notes with, am I showing my age? Thing is I can't read my on writing, are tape recorders allowed?

I don't even know how to write in cursive, can print if I go slow... I know how to type though, pretty darn fast!

please - no audio/video without prior permission of WebmasterWorld and any/all of the speakers involved. All the engines and larger corps that have speakers will not allow recording of the sessions.

You will get a notepad and pen :-) in your conference bag...

A notepad, like a regular note pad, and a pen? Okay... Luckily, I have a VERY good memory!

Begging works! I got the time off work, I got a coupon, now I am waiting to hear back from my dog sitter before I register. Looks like I am going...YIPPIE!

See you there, voices. My dogs, cat will be at the local kennel for a week, $7 each per day.

It's gonna be a good time.

My dog came from a local rescue, that is where she goes to stay. She is very shy and afraid of anyone she doesn't know, so that is the only place I will take her. They said OK.

Thanks bulldog. I had a coupon code, Brett fixed it up for me. Harrah's casino is about 1/2 mile from the hotel, guess I better bring some gambling money

I've been saving up gambling money;-). It's gonna be a blast. My boyfriend is coming with me afterall, risking his job to take the time off. My friend informed me that's she's afraid of crowds and was having second thoughts.

I don't like crowds either, tell her to come anyways. We will give her lots of space.

Ok I bought the ticket, room is booked. Now for the flights! hehe

How far is the airport to the hotel? I guess I'll read up on it but if anybody knows any other info that might help please post :)

example: what is the closest airport to the hotel? (i'm sure they only have 1 major airport, but it never hurts to make sure).

Also I forgot to ask the hotel reserver, do the rooms come with DSL connections?

I did see something on the hotel site that said high speed internet. While traveling last summer I went out of my way to stop at a hotel that had Internet. Never could get the dang thing to work with my laptop and windows 2000. If anyone has run into this prob and knows how to work around it let me know.

How far is the airport to the hotel?

About 25 minutes

what is the closest airport to the hotel?

Closest is also the biggest: New Orleans International Airport

The hotel internet is serviced by well known hotel isp company WayPort. [wayport.com...]

I believe they have roaming agreements with some other wirless isp's out there. Check it out if you already have them. (I don't think they share with TMobile or BT though)

what's the dress code? hehe

I'm curious, what % of people attending this conference are 1-3 person companies (small guys) versus employees of larger companies who attend?

Dress code... I'm going to just bring some comfortable sundresses and sandals. June in New Orleans is quite hot. Though there will be AC inside, unfortunately, I am a smoker(stepping outside here and there). If you are male, you might want to stay away from the sundress idea... could very well be against the dress code.

Never thought about those %'s. Will be interesting to find out. It's just a couple of weeks away now.

I'm wearing my usual work clothes, jeans. Guess we have to smoke out side eh?

I was wondering if I need to bring some long sleeves, everything is Houston is over air-conditioned and half the time I freeze.
