When?
Saturday September 20th, 2003, 1pm to whenever.

Where?
Cittie of Yorke Pub in downtown London England. A great place for a weekend conference. There's been a Pub there since the year 1430.

The main bar is a cavernous mediaeval-style hall with a high vaulted ceiling and everywhere you look there are carved oak panels, ornate metalwork and some of the biggest oak vats you'll ever see above the bar - it's like an elven king's hall out of The Lord Of The Rings. (-professor hardbottle)

Why?
The premise is simple, many of our members are qualified to speak at conferences and are bored to tears when attending other ones. So why did we go to them? Just to get to the bar and network with people! The contacts, the associations, the follow ups, and the friendships have been some of the most productive contacts we have ever been part of.

What's in it for me?
The Short scoop? It's your chance to put yourself in the loop with the in marketing crowd (it's probably why you came to this site).

We've been watching air fares from the US to London since June, and they are as inexpensive right now as they have been all year long!

Note: I'm saddened to report that unlike Boston there will NOT be limo rides from the hotel to pub this time. Sorry - london limo's are really really high priced. (maybe we can find a limo affiliate somewhere ;)

Also, you may wish to wait 24hrs to book a room at the hotel until the conference rate goes into effect.

Right now fares from Los Angeles to Heathrow are under $450. That's for direct non-stop flights on major airlines.

I didn't rate a ride in the limo. ;) I went to the pub on that little mini-bus and was perfectly happy with it.

Added:
It might be nice to have a mini-bus if a group decides to go on a "short walk" shopping trip - just in case ciml needs another new shirt.

Warning:
The Brit version of a short walk is across town. If you spot engine in front of a group of people holding a map, watch out.

Does the Thistle have high speed access?

I'm sure it does, since it's our base, but I just wanted to check as I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere.

For Cleveland folks, CO has a non-stop to Gatwick for $533. Air Canada can do it for $480, but you'll have to transfer at Toronto.

I'm gonny pull of arms and legs to get there. It'll be hard for me, so what should a first timer know to make the most of it? Should I start undusting my old lappy and loading it full with my stuff, or should I come with pen and paper ready t otake notes, or simply with booze money?

Yeah, americans found it rather small and grotty but the brits were relatively happy....

It's okay as long as you only want to sleep in the room rather than live in it.

I thought it was great... :) I'll take a small room that includes a full breakfast in the morning over a big one that charges $3.50 for bottled water in the rooms any day!

As soon as BT sounded the Bugle, i ran to the shops to pick up a four pack for this evenings revelations.

Ah one evening the men's toilets at the thistle was desecraited with Puck, we could never quite figure out who it was, though there were suspicions, a bit to much beer possibly
