Webmasterworld is proud to announce PubConference 5! the web marketing and promotion event of 2003, to be held in london England and hosted by WebmasterWorld Members.

You've been hearing about the other Pubcons and last years sold out PubCon London - wishing you had been there right!?
Don't miss this opportunity to open yourself to new methods and strategies for web marketing revealed by the friends and family of WebmaserWorld at PubCon 5!

When?
Saturday September 20th, 2003, 1pm to whenever.

Where?
Cittie of Yorke Pub in downtown London England. A great place for a weekend conference. There's been a Pub there since the year 1430.

The main bar is a cavernous mediaeval-style hall with a high vaulted ceiling and everywhere you look there are carved oak panels, ornate metalwork and some of the biggest oak vats you'll ever see above the bar - it's like an elven king's hall out of The Lord Of The Rings. (-professor hardbottle)

Why?
The premise is simple, many of our members are qualified to speak at conferences and are bored to tears when attending other ones. So why did we go to them? Just to get to the bar and network with people! The contacts, the associations, the follow ups, and the friendships have been some of the most productive contacts we have ever been part of.

What's in it for me?
The Short scoop? It's your chance to put yourself in the loop with the in marketing crowd (it's probably why you came to this site).

Agenda:
;) TBA

Sponsors:
The usual suspects... Thanks to last years crew: AllTheWeb, Position Tech, Inktomi, SearchEngineCommando, Overture UK, Espotting, Yahoo UK

Special Guests? Who will be there?
Everyone who is anyone in European SEO.

Travel - goin mobile:
We've been watching air fares from the US to London since June, and they are as inexpensive right now as they have been all year long!

Cost:
All funds go directly towards the cost of hosting the event (venue expenses, and the OPEN bar etc..).

Early bird signup until the end of August...

Got Site? Sure:

Darn - I knew I shouldn't have go on holiday with the family ;)

Email confirmation from the Thistle

I am writing you to let you know about the availability and prices for the period of the Webmasterworld Conference.
Unfortunately we don't have the spase available to accommodate you on the Saturday 19 of September, but we still
have rooms available on the 17th, 18th and 20th.

The prices available for the conference on those dates are the following:

17/09 Standard Twin od Double at the price of 76 including english breakfast and Vat with seven days cancellation policy.

18/09 Superior Single at 48 including English breakfast and Vat with seven days cancellation policy.
18/09 Superior Twin at 96 including English breakfast and Vat with seven days cancellation policy.Prices are per room per night.

20/09 Superior Double or Twin 96 including English breakfast and Vat with seven days cancellation policy.

Anyone recommend a "spase" anywhere else for the 19th?

Try booking through Expedia, as the hotel seems to have block spaces reserved for online booking agents such as Expedia. They had confirmed space available as of yesterday.

Ditto :)

I always leave the hotel booking until too late.

In Boston I ended up staying in three different Hotels over 5 days :(

Ladies, you'll be fine. This crowd is relatively friendly. Just keep your ears peeled for geek speak and then wander over to join in. We don't bite - well, most of us don't anyway. ;)

I always leave the hotel booking until too late ... ...Try booking through Expedia..

Yeah, I'm always to late in booking these things as well..

So I just did my first time Expedia booking, flight and Thistle hotel.
Quite a good experience I must say.
Even got back an emailed Outlook appointment set from them,
including the e-ticket - synch'ed to my Mobile SE P800 - presto - life can be easy!

<<added - not so perfect - for non UK residents - you need an English address - for security -emergency >>

Can anyone confirm that these Expedia Hotel bookings will hold - given that normal bookings for the Thistle Islington Hotel seem full?

See you all there..!

Which airport is the closest?
I'm a total London newbie and not much of a traveler. I'd appreciate any pointers.

Just looking for a bit less pricey alternative to the thistle, the Ryan is mcuh better already, but I'm on the cheap, so any other recommendations?

Makers Mark?
New one on me. Afraid my drink knowledge is limited to above Hadrians Wall.
Anyone swaps for some Lagavulin?

Watch out ladies for Lorax, he will sweep you off your feet! (These Canadians :) )
