This might be old news, but I read this:

Colin Sebastian, an analyst with Robert Baird, wrote in a recent note. “... cookies will be eliminated from browsers next year.”

Does he mean that cookies in general are being eliminated? Or just third party cookies?

It was announced last year as regards to 3rd party cookies on Google's Chrome browser: [webmasterworld.com...]

That was related to changes like GDPR and all browsers are moving that way. Cookies for sites you visit are not automatically blocked or way too many logins would be having problems.
