Wich is the best software to help in the submission?

Of course I know that in the case of main SE you HAVE TO submit manually. But I'm thinking to buy some auto submit software for the minor SE`s and directories. I have heard about Submit Wolf and other similar programs but I'm not sure wich of them to choose. Of course I wouln't like to see my site penalized because the software submits to banned FFA pages or things similar.
Is there anybody here to give some advice??

The most important search engines are Google, Ikntomi, FAST, AltaVista and Teoma. They deliver SE technology to several hundred portals, which means that they cover 99% of the robot SE's. So why do you want to spend time on other SE's?

Your time and money is better spend on improving your results on the important SE's.

Well I know that in adittion to the major SE there are a lot of index pages and minor directories in wich we would like to be to improve a little our LinkPop. So I think that one of these programs could be usefull. Any more thoughts?

Your best bet is to get a demo copy of the products that are out there, read all the feature lists, and try to make sure the program will do as much as you want it to as possible. Hand submission is best, but many sytems WILL accept auto submissions, so why not use them?

I bought Submitta at first, but then got a refund because I was unhappy with the reporting. They should have fixed that by now and they do have a free version.

I didn't want to spend much, so I finaly bought MGAWEB, but have not been 100% happy with it.

At this point I think I would buy Adweb. I read a great (no affiliate link) review from another SEO, and he mentioned all the main features I want.

And I've seen a number of nice reviews for Top Dog.

The main thing is to get a program that operates in "stealth" mode. And if you can get one that has SE submission rules programmed in, that is a big plus.

Are these not exactly the pages that do NOT count for link popularity? FFAs and the like?

Well SinnerG, in fact I have tested it with a site with grey PR. After submit with one of those programs in a demo version the PR increased until 2 points to months later. It's not too much but.....

I wish I could tell you, but it was about 6 months ago that I did my research into the software. What I remember was seeing 2-4 posts by people using Top Dog and being satisfied. I don't think they were professional SEOs, though...

One SEO I exchanged posts with about 3 months ago swore by Adweb. He felt they really had done a good job with giving the pro what they need as far as stealth, constant updates, spam avoidance features, etc. I've been thinking of reviewing it again as an upgrade from the MGAWEB that I own.

Since I submit to about 160 SEs and Dirs I'd really like to automate all the submissions that I can and hand submit everything else. I'm not sure if this system will allow me to say my URL, but I have a links page on my site with all the places that I submit and then some. Visitors can use it to submit their site or download the Excel spreadsheet that also allows you do document submissions.

Digimon a big warning!!!!

Submission via any auto-process is very bad. The lack of traffic you will generate from most of these sites will not make up for what you will lose by being banned from most major search engines. Linkpop (and PR) means nothing compared to ranked position, traffic and qualified visitors.

Should you choose this route... ENSURE BEFORE YOU SUBMIT TO ANY OF THESE SITES "AUTOMATICALLY" THAT YOU MANUALLY INVESTIGATE EACH ONE FOR THIS POTENTIAL.

Google shows you via the googlebar which submission sites to avoid.

The remainder, you will have no such luxury.

Another warning: use web based email when submitting to unknowns, not any of your regular email addresses. People can end up getting spammed to death; some are set up expressly for the purpose of email harvesting and selling the addresses.

It's always a good idea to use a special address when submitting sites. We use a different address on every submission project for our clients. But we monitor all the responses and take additional action as needed for our clients.

The list of systems that I mentioned in my post above has not found to contain any that cause excessive spam, but you will get some.

Fathom, I'm a bit confused. Are you suggesting that a link from a second-tier directory can get you banned from a major search engine? Or do you mean that auto-submitting to a major search engine can get you banned if they detect the automation?

I have difficulty believing that a link on someone else's site, however sleazy & spammy, will get you banned from a major SE. Wouldn't unscrupulous SEOs (as opposed to WMW members :)) simply submit all of their competitors' sites when they identified one of these black holes? Pretty soon the entire web would be banned. I suppose if 90% of your links were from spam sites a filter of some kind might kick in, but how can a SE hold your site accountable for what some other site chooses to list? I think if Google identifies a spam site, it assigns it PR0 - at that point, linkage from the PR0 site does nothing to boost the linked sites, frustrating those who were tring to boost their own PR, but not harming those who didn't even know they were listed.
