Q: At present I submit our clients sites every 2 weeks to search engines. Is this too often or should I submit just every 4 weeks.
I appreciate this question is very frequently asked.
What is the optimum time????

I asked exactly the same question once. I decided that 5 weeks seemed to be safe everywhere.

Starting submissions on the first of each month has been working well for me. I adopted Brett's recomendation of five pages per domain per day max, no problems so far. I've been doing it this way for 8-9 months.

I have changed mine to 10 per doman per day depending on which engine and what site I am working with.

adam, I believe what's been indicated is that you stagger the submissions. If you have a site that has 100 pages, on the first of the month submit 1 through 5, on the second submit 6 through 10, on the third submit 11 through 15, and so on, until they have all been submitted.

Then, I believe what's indicated is to wait 5 weeks and start the cycle over again.

That's how I've interpreted this, and it sounds like a reasonable, easy to follow plan.

I agree with the 5 per day, but I don't agree with the resubmission frequency.

Alta, updating in a reasonable time frame. Let the spider find the new page. No need to resubmit it if you can find the page.
Google same deal. Resubmission of a page you already can find in the db isn't doing anything.
Ink - take your best shot. Resubmit when it falls off the face of the planet (monthly).

Fast,lycos,excite,infoseek,northernlight...whatever. I do the trickle thing with one two pages in the mix per day to those engines.
