Should I submit even if there is no page up?

I recently purchased two domain names which I had repointed to my main website url. I will not be putting any pages up for these new domain names, but they contain keywords for my industry. Should I submit these new urls to the search engines, even tho they immediately point to my website of another name? Is there any advantage ranking-wise on the search engines?

Welcome to wmw. I would not submit these URL's to the search engines if they just do a redirect or a meta refresh. However, you might want to consider putting some good content on them and submitting if the domain names are That Good. In addition you might want to have content on these domains and link to the main site for some link pop.

If these domain names happen to be in any directories (yahoo, AOL, ODP etc.) then I would definitely put some content on these newly purchased domains.
