hey i need to post my site on search engines
what are the ways ... for yahoo and goto and lycos
please specify their details if u can...i can't understand Goto.com's Classic listings scheme paid listings also invited
I am not new to listings but i need to get mine oto make a difference now.....
pls...anybody if u no about it advise..thanks a lot

Each search engine has it's own submission guidelines, and most of them have informational pages about their submission process as well.

For starters, here's Yahoo's submission guidelines [docs.yahoo.com]

The first step of all is:

- working website, no dead links (ie. that error)
- website up 24/7, able to cope with traffic
- "basic" robots.txt, blocking access to sections
you dont want indexed.

Before you start actually PAYING for inclusion you should exhaust the free directories (most notably, the Open Directory Project, I think Google & Altavista still offer a free submit).

After that, invest in Yahoo, they can generate quite some traffic, if you are in the right category, no idea about the other ones.

And then its optimise till you drop.. :)
