I've got a new site up by IP number - the domain should show by Monday or Tuesday. Is there any problem with temporarily linking to it "numerically" from a site that gets regularly crawled to have it picked up by linkage, or is it best to wait and set up the link by the domain name?

Also, is there a problem with direct submission of a page like this?

Marcia,

I have seen pages rank well with just the ip number submitted (at least in google).

In regards to having a link to the ip number from a crawled site, I don't see why this would hurt you in the short term as you'll be changing the link over tothe domain name once the DNS modification takes place.
