Want to know when spiders visit - best software?

Hi, after having done seo for a while I am realising the thing I am missing out on is being able to analyse my logs. I would love to know when a spider has been through my site and track referrers. I have heard of software called Funnelweb, can anyone advise me on how good it is and any other software that is available? Thanking you in advance. :)
