(not to mention many emails and messages back and forth about the same).

Spider MO:
Agent name, usually comes in as:
Mozilla/3.0 (compatible)

Seems to use random IP's. Those ip's sometimes track back to proxy servers. A bizarre tale-tell sign is a referral string from: [iaea.org...]
I can only imagine the referral string is for 'chit chat' tracking to see where it pops up on the radar. Thus, by talking about it, we are actually helping them.

Another common factor seems to be a high number of ips from lvcm.com

I've also heard this is the UA of a web accellerator, requesting graphics, etc. while the user is browsing.
