Googlebot with a query?

What is this? It looks like Googlebot is not Googlebot, but a user who queried somewhere else..? (LCOSS?)

The kicker is, the site has *nothing* to do with "Baby resources"..?

GET /&query=Services+Babies&rsource=LCOSS - 404 3377 Googlebot/2.1+(+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html) - -

Thanks,

Do you have an IP? It could be someone faking googlebot.

Entire line from logs follows:

2001-08-02 11:45:58 216.239.46.55 - 209.209.22.248 80 GET /&query=Services+Babies&rsource=LCOSS - 404 3377 Googlebot/2.1+(+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html) - -

I did nslookup on the first ip and found

"Name: crawl2.googlebot.com
Address: 216.239.46.55 "

The did nslookup on the second ip address 209.209.22.248 and found:

"can't find 209.209.22.248: Non-existent host/domain"

Understand I don't know how to read log files very well, so I am sure this is a case of ESTO (Equipment Superior To Operator)

Thanks,
-G

[209.209.22.248...] (No website configured at this address)

Canonical name: Server 13
Server: Microsoft-IIS/5.0

NSLOOKUP:

InReach Communications (NETBLK-INREACH98) INREACH98
209.209.0.0 - 209.209.127.255
Hyperspot (NETBLK-INREACH-HYPERSPOT) INREACH-HYPERSPOT
209.209.22.0 - 209.209.22.255

Hmmm. So if this is googlebot, why is there a search string in the query?

It's not a query. Googlebot was following a link. Examples:

[google.com...]

[google.com...]
