GET x HTTP/1.0

I've seen this one from mostly chinese sites (at least 10), one turkish, and a pair from the US.

My sites couldn't really be found in China unless searched for in a US SE. Server always returns 404 and that's the end of it.

What's going on here?

Usually if typed in a browser, you'd get GET /x, and I can duplicate GET x thru a telnet client, but not HTTP/1.0.

Anybody else seen this strange stuff?

After reading [webmasterworld.com...] I'm tempted to deny access to all of these IP addresses. None of them have a host name thru reverse lookup, and most seem to be from China. I have to go to APNIC to see who owns them, but even so, I don't have a clue. After the Taiwan incident, and the above link, I'm kind of paranoid.
